Epson Introduces SureColor P5370 17-Inch Professional Photographic Printer

Replacing Iconic SureColor P5000, New Printer Delivers Creativity Without CompromiseOctober 12, 2023 PrintersProfessional Imaging

LOS ALAMITOS, Calif. – Oct. 12, 2023 – Empowering photographers to produce the finest exhibition quality prints, Epson today introduced the new 17-inch SureColor® P5370 professional printer designed to meet the demanding needs of professional and production photographic markets. Incorporating technological breakthroughs and enhanced reliability to produce prints as the artist intended, the new printer has an improved printhead, new ink set with an extended color gamut in dark blue hues, plus an advanced print engine for productivity, including sheet and roll capability. The SureColor P5370 is being debuted and shown at the Palm Springs Photo Festival.

Vincent Versace, a recognized pioneer in the art and science of digital photography noted, “When I have a large volume of prints to make and time and reliability is of the essence, the SureColor P5370 is my go-to printer for meeting deadlines while maintaining the highest photographic print quality.”

Touting a refined design, the SureColor P5370 combines an improved advanced MicroPiezo® AMC™ printhead with Epson Precision Dot Screening Technology to consistently produce prints with smooth tonal renditions and capability to reproduce the details captured with today’s high-resolution cameras. Featuring a new 10-color UltraChrome® PRO10 ink set in high-capacity 200 mL cartridges, including Violet Ink, the printer delivers an extended range of blue hues and a wider color gamut.1 With dedicated channels for Photo and Matte Black inks, there’s no ink switching, helping to save time and reduce ink waste. The printer’s built-in Carbon Black Mode increases Dmax, allowing for rich blacks and exceptional contrast on glossy paper.

Offering flexibility and increased productivity, the printer includes a built-in roll feeder, auto cutter and a high-capacity cassette that accommodates up to 100 cut sheets from 8.5” x 11” to 17” x 22”. In addition, to further support today’s workflows that leverage both Epson and third-party media, the SureColor P5370 includes Epson Media Installer, a software application designed to help control parameters for successful printing with a variety of media, including thick fine art papers.

“Listening to market needs and incorporating customer feedback, we integrated the latest printhead and ink technologies that are optimized for photography into this new printer so professional photographers can maximize productivity, reliability and consistently produce the finest exhibition-quality prints,” said Marc Aguilera, product manager, Epson America, Inc. “Designed to meet demanding needs, the SureColor P5370 is an evolution to the beloved SureColor P5000, adding improved reliability, deeper black density and wider color gamut in blue hues.

Additional SureColor P5370 features include:

  • Intuitive operation – a new large 4.3-inch color LCD touchscreen and interface allows for easy setup, control and maintenance
  • Expanded connectivity – Ethernet, USB and, now included, Wi-Fi® connectivity
  • Advanced software support for enhanced productivity – includes Epson® Cloud Solution PORT2 for fleet management and Epson Print Layout software for simple print production

Availability

The SureColor P5370 will be available in Q1 2024 through Epson Authorized Professional Imaging Resellers for an estimated MSRP of $2,095. For additional information, visit www.epson.com/p5370.

† Black and color print speeds are measured in accordance with ISO/IEC 24734. Actual print times will vary based on factors including system configuration, software, and page complexity. For more information, visit www.epson.com/printspeed

1 Actual energy savings will vary based on print task and use conditions. Compared with best-selling, similarly featured color laser printers priced at $1,499 (USD) or less and 40 ppm or less, as of February 2023. Competitive data gathered from manufacturer websites and third-party industry sources.
2 Based on average monthly document print volumes of about 300 pages.
3 Part of the ink from the included bottles is used for initial setup. Yields are lower than those of replacement ink bottles. Included and replacement ink bottle yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson’s methodology. Actual ink yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. For more information, visit www.epson.com/inkinfo
4 Actual savings and costs will vary considerably based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions. Savings and cost per ISO page are based on the cost of replacement ink bottles and the cost of enough standard-capacity color laser toner cartridges to achieve the total page yields of the ink bottles using the manufacturers’ online prices and yields for the best-selling similarly featured color laser printers, available at retail, priced at $1,499 MSRP (USD) or less with speeds of 40 ppm or less per industry available data as of February 2023. Savings of up to $600 (USD) and cost per ISO page of about $0.09 (USD) for XL-capacity color laser toner cartridges based on the same methodology.
5 Included and replacement ink pack yields are based on the ISO/IEC 24711 standard using the ISO/IEC 19752 pattern in default mode printing continuously. Ink pack yields vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature, humidity, and frequency of use. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently. Ink is used for printing and printer maintenance. For print quality, part of the ink from the included ink packs is used for printer startup and a variable amount of ink remains in the ink pack after the “replace ink pack” signal. For details, see www.epson.com/inkinfo
6 With three optional paper trays.
7 Not all media types are supported for PCL printing.
8 Most features require an Internet connection to the printer, as well as an Internet- and/or email-enabled device. For a list of Epson Connect™ enabled printers and compatible devices and apps, visit www.epson.com/connect
9 Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™; level of performance subject to the range of the router being used. Wi-Fi Direct may require printer software.
10 Actual savings will vary based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions. Savings comparison based on the purchase cost of replacement ink packs and the cost of enough mono toner cartridges to achieve the total page yields of the ink packs using the manufacturers’ online prices and yields for the highest-capacity toner cartridges for the best-selling similarly featured cartridge-based mono laser printers priced between $200 and $1,499 (USD) with speeds of 20 – 31 ppm per industry available data as of July 2023.

Epson Enterprise Sustainable Business Color Copier

THE EPSON WORKFORCE ENTERPRISE AM-SERIES IS THEIR MOST SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS COLOUR COPIER

Posted by Digital Reviews Network | Mar 23, 2023 | Industry NewsNew Product Pressers |

Epson has been recognised for their commitment to sustainability. To further cement their credentials in this area, the launch of the Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM-Series, with award-winning, patented Piezo Heat-Free inkjet technology at their core, is the most seriously sustainable, feature-rich range of business colour copiers in their history.

Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM

The new 40-60ppm multi-function devices bring Epson’s most successful static line-head technology to the mass market enhancing the company’s offering and ensuring end users have the best product fit while still addressing and staying true to the company’s sustainability agenda.

Inkjet technology uses one quarter of the energy compared to laser and with a compact footprint and a lightweight design, these products help limit resources used during production and shipping. The energy metrics was determined from comparing Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM-C4000 with 34 competitive laser devices (35 to 45ppm A3 colour MFD segment) as at 14 March 2023 according to data from Keypoint Intelligence.

This reduced size also means they easily integrate into any office and save on space. High yield ink cartridges also reduce material usage, office disruptions, shipping, storage and end-user management of consumables.

The new WorkForce Enterprise AM-Series represents a significant shift in Epson’s printing strategy, fully supporting the company’s commitment to sustainability and coincides with Epson’s recent announcement of its ¥100 billion (AUD$1 billion) investment into sustainable innovation.

The launch of these products accentuates laser technology’s limited ability to make significant steps towards improved sustainability due to its ongoing requirement for heat during the print process and relative increased energy use.

This combined with fewer moving and consumable parts to replace over the lifetime of the printer compared to lasers, also means service and maintenance needs of Epson inkjets are substantially reduced, along with resulting printer downtime improving productivity and user satisfaction.

The new WorkForce Enterprise AM-Series now completes Epson’s business inkjet line up from small workgroup units to high-speed production machines – meaning that no matter the business function or print demand, there is a product that suits.

With a full range of support from Managed Print Service and Print Admin packages through to Remote Service solutions, these products truly enable a low maintenance, high quality, reliable, sustainable print system.

If you are loking to buy a new projector for a classroom, meeting room or home theater, the image you project on the screen should make a great impression on your audience. Our projector guide will help answer common questions regarding terminology, features and other important considerations when you are choosing a projector.

Contrast Ratio

Contrast ratio is the difference between light and dark on a screen, expressed by a number. Resolution

Resolution is the number of dots or pixels used to display an image. Higher resolutions mean that more pixels are used to create the image, resulting in a crisper, cleaner image. High resolution is important for projecting detailed charts and graphs, text, and high-definition video. The resolution is indicated by a number combination such as 1920 x 1200. This indicates that there are 1920 dots horizontally across the display by 1200 lines of dots vertically, equaling 2,304,000 total dots that make up the image seen on the screen. LEARN MORE

After extensive research, Epson’s WorkForceEnterprise WFC21000 stole the show with its impressive 100 ISO ppm1and image quality with its PrecisionCoreHeat-Free technology.

Printer Works with You, Not Against You

More often than not, the printing solutions Simpson previously relied on caused numerous issues that interfered with the quality of the prints and prolonged the process to get the job done. After using the WF-C21000, Simpson immediately identified it as AMC’s “go-to” solution for volume printing. “In the past, when I used laser printers for volume printing, the paper runs hot.” said Simpson. “Epson’s inkjet printer technology is amazing because prints stay cool which is a huge plus to an operator dealing with volume.” Another major selling point for the Epson printers is its DURABrite® inks. DURABriteinstant-dry inks are truly touchable right out of the printer and are ideal for everyday text and image documents. “Never in the 160,000 pieces that we’ve printed with the Epson WF-C21000 have we encountered smearing issues. The black is actually blacker when printing on the Epson compared to our old printer. It blows my mind how fast it is. I love that with the Epson the ink is instantly dry because once I put the prints in the box, I’m confident there will be no smudging.” “I like not having to take everything apart. With our old printers, if smearing began or there was an issue, we would have to begin the process of troubleshooting. This can include checking the drums, toner, transfer roller, etc., which can be such a pain and can lead to making a huge mess which is troublesome when you’re printing on white paper,” said Simpson. “The Epson takes care of a lot of issues I’ve had previously with printers. It’s one of the few printers I’ve worked with that feels like it’s working with you and not against you.”-J.B SIMPSON, ACCOUNT MANAGER, AMERICAN MARKETING COUNSEL “The Epson takes care of a lot of issues I’ve had previously with printers. No Supervision Required

When Simpson was using laser printers, they frequently experienced paper jams in the middle of a job. Paper jams require the operator to spend more time hands on, double checking the prints for duplicates or missing pages. Incorporating the WorkForce Enterprise WF-C21000 has helped Simpson streamline the printing process. “The number of times I’ve experienced a jam with Epson’s printer is minimal, I can count it on one hand. Even then, it was extremely easy to fix as the printer communicates with you to resolve an issue and the printer resumes right where it left off, helping us avoid mistakes.” In addition, the WF-C21000 has provided AMC with peace of mind when printing large volumes. “When running jobs on the Epson printer, I could walk away, and have it run the whole order without my assistance. I find this crazy because I’m used to sitting next to the printer and supervising the unit to make sure nothing goes wrong. This is a printer that doesn’t require supervision, which is nice when you need a cup of coffee or trip to the company library.”

Increased Productivity at Lower Cost

AMC has taken advantage of everything the WF-C21000 offers to help increase their productivity. “We enjoy the stacker the Epson printer comes with. I love that we don’t have to jog the prints ourselves, it pumps it out so quick. Having the jogger built in cuts down a big chunk of time and everything we’re uncomfortable with when working with high volume prints.” “The stapler is a plus, especially for those who are using this in an office environment. It staples in the blink of an eye. I appreciated that the unit came with staples already inside, and so far, we have not had to refill it.” The Epson also proved to be efficient in speed. “The Epson printer runs twice as fast as our previous printers. It in fact delivers 100 ISO ppm1, which is crucial when working with a large order. Prior to bringing the Epson in, we used laser printers that offered only 50-60 ppm, which isn’t nearly as fast as the Epson.” Epson’s WF-C21000 has exceeded AMC’s expectations for their scope of work. “The Epson serves its purpose and I think it can work for anyone printing high-volume. It’s been my favorite printer that I’ve worked with since I have been at AMC and easiest on the operator.”

“The WF-C21000 is everything it’s advertised to be. It’s so good we bought a second one. What else can I say?” concludes Simpson. “The WF-C21000 is everything it’s advertised to be…It blows my mind how fast it is…prints stay cool…the ink is instantly dry…it [can] run the whole order without my assistance…It’s so good we bought a second one.”-J.B SIMPSON, AMERICAN MARKETING COUNSEL
